Conversion of GELA plant to BIO-Refinery

Gela refinery has recently undertaken a process of conversion from classical refinery to a Bio refinery, where natural, green and last generation fuels are produced. Green fuels are aimed to reduce the dependence from oil and reduce CO2 emission in new generation vehicles, process plants and domestic district heating networks. The conversion process that was approved in 2016 and started in 2017 will include the maintenance and the update of pipework and installations of the plant. ROCKWOOL Technical Insulation delivered  ProRox pipe sections and wired mats for these applications during 2017.
