Artic class ships are scientific research ships that have to meet very stringent requirements in terms of thermal insulation and energy efficiency (in addition to standard fire and acoustic requirements). For this reason, special insulation configurations were required, resulting in stonewool slabs to be up to 150mm thick. Ship is named after the actual Norwegian Prince, Haakon Magnus. ROCKWOOL Technical supplied SeaRox SL 620, SeaRox SL 720, SeaRox SL 740 and SeaRox SL 340.
