The new plant is also an environmental initiative that reduces carbon emissions by over 200,000 tonnes. Normal fuel is wood chips, recycled wood and turf. In total the boiler will use approximately 800 000 cubic meters (loose volume chips) per year, or 4000 cubic meters per day.
